This is a very helpful and important book especially at this particular time in our history. Due to the COVID pandemic our beloved children have been subjected to lockdowns, vaccines, isolation from friends and family, wearing masks, social distancing and online learning. Kids find themselves faced with emotional stress over many other things in their lives also and they need guidance and help to process the meaning of these feelings and how to contain and manage them.

“A Monster Handbook: A Toolkit of Strategies and Exercise to Help Children Manage BIG Feelings” can help identify these persistent monsters and bring kids understanding and peace. It gives kids the power to become conquerers thus dispelling themselves of negativity and replacing positivity and calm to their minds, bodies and spirits.

The book is full of practical and attainable ways to reach these goals successfully. The author has included extra fun bonuses at the end : monster card cutouts, inspirational cards to tuck into pockets, a monster mood tree, and breathing exercises that will bring relaxation and resolve, just to name a few.

The monsters portrayed are kid-friendly and the illustrations are colourful and enrich the message of the book greatly. Viegas has checked every box to make this book a must have and a winner. I highly, highly recommend it.

    Our FIRST Monster Handbook review’
I like the pictures in the book, but I also like that there is space to draw your own, so you can make it look like your own monster. The bits for adults are important, because it shows adults what to do and how they can help. The monsters to cut out are very helpful. If you are feeling frustrated at school because you can’t do something, having your angry monster on your desk will help you remember to breathe and be friends. If you are lonely in the playground, having your lonely monster with you can help you to feel happier. The idea of choosing your superpower to help your monster is great – you can choose for yourself how to make your monster feel better. This book is brilliant – it can work for little kids as well as older ones. It is easy to understand and I think it will be very helpful.’ Emily (7)

Wow I’m really blown away tonight, so I was reading through the little monster book looking at how it all works and how to use it, my daughter of 8 asked me what’s it all about and my 12 year old.
So I said let’s all give it a go, I didn’t know what to expect really…
In ten minutes I’ve found out my youngest has a panic monster that she hides well and my oldest has a monster too that has been kept under wraps and never mentioned before !!!
Relax kids is life changing and inspiring 😍😍😍 – Lisa Quedou

Never too young. My 2 year old loves all of my Relax Kids bits and pieces but her favourite is A Monster Handbook. She can now recognise and name them all and soon I’ll explain what they are 💜 – Adelle Delussey

I’ve introduced the Monster Handbook to a few people. One of my colleagues said that it’s changed her daughters life. How amazing is that? I’ve just had to order four more copies! It’s a fabulous book. X – Rachel Rapson

After a few cranky words between siblings I was impressed to find my 10 year old in her room reading about the Anger Monster. Ever since The Monster Handbook arrived (and she received it for her birthday), my daughter has been reading it going to bed and requesting a different meditation before bed. Thank you Marneta – this is NEVER going to stay in stock!!! – Sara Retief
