Self-regulation resources and training to support children’s mental health

Harnessing the Power of Endorphins, Serotonin, Dopamine through Relax Kids 7 steps.

All those working in education and social care know that it is now crucial to prioritise the wellbeing and mental health of children.

We now know that encouraging children to do activities that stimulate endorphins is a great way to bio-hack their system.

Serotonin, and dopamine are neurotransmitters influence mood whilst endorphins are natural painkillers and mood enhancers, released during physical activities and joyful experiences. Serotonin regulates mood, sleep, and appetite, and its production can be boosted through exposure to natural light and exercise. Dopamine is associated with pleasure, motivation, and reward, and can be stimulated through engaging in activities that bring a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment.

The 7 steps of a Relax Kids class helps children not only self-regulate, manage and modulate their emotions and behaviours but also this unique system enhances wellbeing as endorphins are released. Relax Kids offers a range of activities that help children self-regulate whilst helping boost these endorphins.

Movement and play – helps stimulate the release of endorphins and serotonin, promoting a sense of happiness and well-being in children.

Stretching and massage release endorphins by increasing blood flow, activating nerve pathways, and promoting relaxation and stress reduction.

Breathing exercises can help children regulate their emotions and calm their minds.

Affirmation and relaxation exercises can boost the production of endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine, which help children feel calmer and happier.

When children are encouraged to experience all 7 steps in a session, they’re overall well-being improves especially when they practice regularly.
