Self-regulation resources and training to support children’s mental health

Do know which are the BEST neurodivergence children’s massage training providers in the UK?

Many of our Relax Kids coaches use Relax Kids with children with neurodivergence including autism, ADHD and dyslexia with incredible results, but you may be looking for a specific course.

Are you thinking of starting a new career working with children with neurodivergence (or add to your skills) and wondering which one to choose?

We’ve saved you some time and put together a list to help with your research as we really want you to choose the best one for you.

Below are some of the best training companies in the UK (in no particular order) that run courses to support children with neurodivergence.

Special Yoga

Created by Jo Manuel in 2002, Special Yoga combines body, breath and mindfulness practices that benefit the practitioner first; calm caregivers create the foundations for calm children, teens and adults with additional needs. Designed to educate and support anyone caring for children with additional needs. You will learn about a variety of conditions and the remedial techniques and adaptations for each. Special Yoga will teach you how and when practices can be adapted for different situations and populations.

Child Autism UK

Child Autism UK provides a range of training courses aimed at people developing their skills to become ABA tutors. They run a two-day course where you will learn how to use ABA theory and techniques to help children with autism. There are also advanced courses available. As an ABA tutor, you will be able to work day to day with the child (children) implementing the strategies in the family’s own home or in a school or nursery.

The Early Years Professional Development Programme offers a set of training modules and resources for those working in various early years settings for children up to 5 years. The training is effective in providing strategies for supporting pupils as well as extending awareness of the wide range of needs of pupils with autism.

Edge Hill University

A degree level course that covers the 3-8 age range and most of our graduates begin teaching in nursery, reception or Key Stage 1 classes. You will develop a deepened awareness of the individuality of autistic people and how being autistic affects different children and be confident in working jointly with families to offer positive practical support and creative provision.
